On July 2, 2026, the Town of Berry will gather at Berry Heritage Park for a truly historic occasion: Berry Celebrates America 250. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., this special community celebration will honor the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, while recognizing the generations of Americans whose courage, service, and sacrifice have helped preserve our freedoms.

As mayor, I am proud that Berry will take part in this national milestone in a way that reflects who we are as a community. We are a town that remembers its history, honors those who have served, supports those who serve today, and looks forward with hope to the future we are building together.

This celebration is about more than fireworks, music, and fellowship, although we will certainly enjoy all three. It is about taking time to pause and remember the meaning of America’s founding ideals. It is about honoring our past, saluting our present, and preserving our future. It is about coming together as neighbors, families, veterans, service members, children, and friends to celebrate freedom, sacrifice, and unity.

The evening will include live music from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by a fireworks show promptly at 8:30 p.m. The first 250 participants will receive a hot dog, chips, and a drink, in recognition of this semiquincentennial celebration. Everyone is encouraged to bring chairs and blankets, settle in, and enjoy an evening of community spirit at Berry Heritage Park.

We also invite everyone to join us in honoring those who are past and present in the military. Their commitment reminds us that freedom is not simply inherited; it is protected, defended, and cherished by each generation.

Events like this remind us of the strength of small towns. In Berry, we understand the value of gathering together, supporting one another, and celebrating the moments that connect us to something larger than ourselves. America’s 250th anniversary is not only a national milestone; it is also a local opportunity to reflect on what freedom means in our own lives, our own families, and our own community.

This event is hosted by Berry Community Engagement and is weather dependent. I encourage everyone to make plans to attend, bring your family, invite your neighbors, and join us for a memorable evening at Berry Heritage Park.

Let us come together to celebrate our country, our community, and the enduring promise of freedom.
